Kaggen! Stormaktsporter by Närke Kulturbryggeri

Let’s start of with a bitter truth: you can’t buy this beer. At least, not easily. It’s mostly sold on the grey market in the USA, so it may take a trip to Northern Europe to score some (the brewery is in Sweden). However, this is a bottle you should keep an eye out for.
Pouring this beer into a glass is like watching storm clouds on a dark night. Magnificent marbled color that rolls between mahogany and a steep black. A tan head forms and falls back quickly.
Aromas of malted mocha milkshake and raspberries. This is a spiked milkshake, mind you: smoke , alcohol and grain scents sneak in . This is a barrel aged beer: on the palate, the whiskey notes come through, pushing along the vanilla, chocolate, and dark molasses. The flavors evolved into burnt toast, Madeira , and black cherries and end in a brilliantly long finish.
Full bodied with minimal carbonation. This is a truly remarkable experience.
