The End Of The Earth

When the European explorers discovered America, they believed it was the end of the Earth. La Fin Du Monde, they would say…well, if you’re saucy/French.

But in reality, this beautiful froth is not the end of the Earth, but the beginning of a long and committed relationship I have recently undertaken with Unibroue Brewery in Quebec. Those brilliant minds produce this uncompromisingly powerful and balanced Tripel that is a lucky find for any beer spelunker worth their salt. Running into this bottle in a cold box can become a game of ‘Catch Me If You Can’, but it’s always worth the trouble.

Fashioned after the legendary Westmalle Trappist Tripel, La Fin Du Monde shows off the classic orange peel and coriander spices that Belgian yeasts bring to every good bottle of suds. Its supple and smooth body defies logic and makes this beer a creeper, and a quite beasty one at that. Weighing in at a heavy 9% ABV, I suggest you follow the directions on the label which imparts these words of wisdom: “Drink Less, Drink Better.”

I couldn’t agree more.

Available in 12 oz. bottles at The Foodery and Brew. On rare occasions, you can find it on the faucet.
