Summary:

The "Heba" is consistently a very good bottling, although the 2009 does not stand up to pervious vintages. That said, it is still an excellent bottle for the price.

The Tuscan coast is a hotbed for winemaking, especially for Cabernet Sauvignon. In Scansano, however, the focus is the Sangiovese grape, locally known as Morellino.

Warmer than inland regions like Chianti, Scansano produces rich and ripe wines, and are often more modern in profile. The region is also notable for its excellent quality to value ratio, one of the best in central Italy.

Aromas of fresh leather and mushroom are evident, leading to pretty floral and herbaceous notes. The floral notes meld with soft red fruit flavors on the palate. A great value.
